Mélissa Bédard

Mélissa Bédard

Revealed to the public in 2012 as a Star Académie contestant, Mélissa Bédard was first noticed for her soulful cover of Richard Desjardins’s Le cœur est un oiseau. This song was also featured on the popular TV show’s official album and and on the great Star Académie tour (over 70 concerts). The tour was followed by Star Academie Christmas shows in Québec City’s Théâtre Capitole. Her version of Cohen’s Hallelujah (also featured on Star Académie Christmas album) deeply touched the audience.

She then signs with the team and releases two albums: Mélissa Bédard (2013) and Aimer (2014). Three singles hit the radio charts : Tu trouveras la paix, Aimer and Knock Knock.

Alongside her solo career, she joins several group shows including Dans les souliers d’Elvis (2013), Les B.B.’s 25th anniversary tour (2015) and a Jean-Pierre Ferland Tribute show called Ferland: Quand on aime (2015-2016). Seduced by her voice and stage presence, Ferland invites her on his own tour as a backup singer.

In 2016, she joins Blue Suede Show musical produced by K.O. Scene and faces new challenges. In October, she makes a huge dream come true recording her favorite Christmas classics. The album, produced by Les Disques Passeport, is simply called Ma liste de Noël and will be released on November 18th. Mélissa will then join Noël en Chœur tour and sing in Québec’s most beautiful churches.
