With a career that includes 5 albums, 4 of which were certified gold or platinum, 4 Félix awards and numerous tours across the country and abroad, The Box is experiencing a comeback in 2009 with THE HORLA.
The Box, a Montreal cult band that had a huge influence on the national music scene during the ‘80s, disbanded in 1992 after engraving several successes on the collective memory: “Walk Away” (1984), “Say to Me” (1985), “My Dreams of You” (1986), “Closer Together” (1987), “Ordinary People” (1987), “Carry On” (1990) and “Temptation” (1990), to name just a few.
In 2005, faced with almost non-stop demand from the industry and the public, Jean Marc Pisapia agreed to restart the engines, this time with something completely different. The fifth album, “Black Dog There”, surprised everyone with its about-turn.
Both the album and the energy at the concerts impressed the media. It was also delighted to hear the band play all its previous hits from the ‘80s in addition to the new material, thereby bridging the gap between the generations of listeners. The band has just finished recording its 6th album, a musical adaptation of a novel by Guy de Maupassant called “The Horla” (1887). This album will be the French version, true to the original work, in the purest New Prog style. Concerts have already been planned up until February 2010.
